Getting Started with Vie de Vanille

From your first sample pack to a custom aging program, here is how our vanilla beans move from our curing room in Sibu to your kitchen. We keep the process straightforward, with clear timelines and honest expectations at every step.

How to Start Your Vanilla Order

Getting started with Vie de Vanille is straightforward. Whether you need a single batch of cured beans for your pastry kitchen or a custom aging program for a specialty food brand, the path from inquiry to delivery follows the same careful steps.

Send Your Inquiry

Tell us what you are looking for: whole Madagascar bourbon beans, vanilla bean paste, pure extract, or a custom curing program. Include your intended use, approximate quantity, and any moisture content or flavor profile preferences. We respond within two business days.

Receive a Sample Pack

For first-time buyers, we recommend ordering a sample pack of our current batch. Each pack includes three graded beans with tasting notes, so you can evaluate aroma, moisture, and flavor before committing to a larger order.

Confirm Batch Specifications

Once you have reviewed the samples, we agree on the batch details: grade, moisture content, pod length, and packaging. For custom aging programs, we also discuss the duration and the flavor profile you want to develop, such as cherry, prune, or sweet spice.

We Cure and Age Your Order

Your beans are sorted, graded, and placed in small wooden crates for the final aging stage. This process takes four to eight weeks depending on the desired moisture content and flavor intensity. We monitor each crate daily and keep you updated on progress.

Quality Check Before Shipping

Every order passes a final inspection: visual grading, aroma evaluation, and moisture measurement. Beans that do not meet our standard are set aside, and only the best pods are packed for delivery.

Delivery and Follow-Up

Your order ships in sealed, food-safe packaging to preserve freshness. We include storage recommendations and a batch card with the harvest date, grade, and tasting notes. If you have questions after delivery, we are available by email or phone.

How to start working with our curing program

Request a sample pack

Tell us about your kitchen: pastry chef, home baker, or specialty food brand. We ask about your volume, preferred moisture content, and how soon you need the beans.

We send a sample pack with three grades of Madagascar bourbon beans, each labeled with tasting notes and moisture specs. You compare aroma, texture, and flavor before committing.

Once you pick a grade, we reserve a batch from the current curing cycle. Small wooden crates are aged for at least six months, so lead time depends on the season.

For custom aging, we agree on a target profile: cherry-forward, prune-heavy, or sweet spice. We track humidity and temperature weekly and send you a curing report.

When the batch is ready, we pack it in sealed pouches with a moisture meter reading. Shipping to Malaysia and international destinations is arranged within five working days.
